About our school

Barmedman Public School is situated in the north of the Riverina Region and is part of the Riverina North West School Education Group.

Most students that attend the school are from the country village of Barmedman, which has begun to have a more stable number of families with school age children, after having reduced numbers due to the continuous and devastating drought conditions over the past 8 years.  We have 6 families with a total of 9 students enrolled for 2019 and 11 students anticipated for 2020.

The school has large historic open buildings comprising of two large spacious classrooms, art room, library, sports shed, large shaded COLA, separate shaded equipment and a refurbished well equipped kitchen all located on well-maintained 5 acre grounds.

For over a century, Barmedman Public School has provided educational experiences that prepare students for life in a democratic society. The school is situated on several hectares which allow students to readily participate in physical activities. The double classrooms provide spacious learning environments.

Class sizes are small and classrooms provide a high ratio of resources per student. There is free access to computers for computer-aided learning, writing and research, including use of the internet. The school aims to: Teach its students to master and apply basic skills in literacy and numeracy; and provide learning experiences that progressively widen the students' knowledge of their world.
